The Mobility Secretariat (Semovi) of Mexico City has implemented a measure to simplify the process of obtaining the Permanent License for drivers starting from November 16.
To schedule an appointment, interested individuals must enter the official appointment portal of Semovi and authenticate their identity through the CDMX Key. Once inside the system, the option to schedule the corresponding appointment can be selected.
Regarding the requirements, those who already possess a Type 'A' License must follow a specific procedure, while those who do not have the CDMX Key must create it to proceed with the process. During the appointment, proof of residence in CDMX and an official identification will be required.
It is important to note that individuals with sentences for traffic incidents or sanctioned by the breathalyzer will not be able to apply for the new Permanent License. Additionally, a theoretical evaluation on the Mobility Law and the Traffic Regulations of Mexico City must be completed for those applying for the license for the first time.
Starting from November 13, 2024, residents of Mexico City can access the Semovi portal to schedule an appointment and process their new Permanent License. The process includes entering the applicant's CURP and making the corresponding payment.
